CADRipper
Unlock information in AutoCAD

Cataloging and filing your CAD drawings is a necessary yet time consuming and costly aspect of management. An AutoCAD department archives this potential knowledge and experience in their drawings. This information is trapped in .dwg files and it’s probable that many other departments of your company won’t know this information pool even exists.

Drawings are often manually cataloged onto a computer network according to date, author, and file location. Sometimes CAD drawings are stored in paper format in large libraries. The cataloging, retrieving and updating of large CAD libraries can be very costly.

What if you were able to automatically electronically read/scan your AutoCAD dwg files to make them more easily available for cataloging retrieving and updating? If you could you would be able to complete your project on an accelerated time table and for a fraction of an investment.

How do we do it? The CADRipper automatically and electronically reads the dwg file, pulls out the relevant data and builds a position database. As your drawings are “ripped”, the natural language (text) and identifying characteristics such as text position, font size and layers, are read and entered into the position database. This database compiles an online glossary of your data, allowing you to search and locate your drawings based on language or position on a map. A life-long cataloging, retrieving and updating project may be able to be organized in a single overnight session.

In addition to the benefits to your bottom line, the CADRipper allows you to capitalize on the existing knowledge and information captured within your CAD drawings by providing you with a fully searchable position database. You will now have the ablility to use your trapped AutoCAD information. You will now be able to tap into this knowledge by applying a Business Intelligence overlay (set of questions).
